ONLINE PROCTORED ASSESSMENTS

Semester Exams

Semester exams are required for all students in grades 9-12 and middle school students in high school course classes. They are given at the end of each semester. 

  • Semester exams will be proctored online at a specific time designated by the administrative team. 
  • Information about semester exams will be communicated at least three weeks in advance. Students will be required to be on camera for the duration of the exam.
  • All semester exams must be taken on the scheduled date. 
  • If a student misses an online, proctored semester exam, the student will be required to attend a scheduled in-person administration of the semester exam at CVA.
  • Only students with excused absences will be allowed to make-up the exams. 

Semester Exam Exemption Policy   

  • Students in 8th grade taking high school credit courses with no disciplinary referrals that resulted in out-of-school suspension, in-school suspension or previously identified disciplinary action and a course grade average of 90 or above may exempt a maximum of two (2) final examinations per semester. 
  • Students in 9th, 10th, and 11th grade with no disciplinary referrals that resulted in out-of-school suspension, in-school suspension or previously identified disciplinary action and a course grade average of 90 or above may exempt a maximum of three (3) final examinations per semester.  Students who meet the exemption criteria in more than three (3) courses may choose the three examinations to be exempted.  
  • Students in 12th grade with no disciplinary referrals that resulted in out-of-school suspension, in-school suspension or previously identified disciplinary action and an average of 90 or above may exempt all qualifying course examinations both semesters unless the course has an EOC.
  • All textbooks and materials must be returned and all fines paid, or a student cannot exempt exams.
  • Students must have had no missing/late work in a class during the semester in order to qualify for the exemptions. This means that a student turns in all work on or before the due date during the semester.
  • Due dates for Exemption Intent Forms will be announced two weeks prior to exams. If the deadline for form submission is missed, there will be no exceptions made, and students will be required to take the exams. 

ACE Benchmark Assessments

Benchmark assessments will be proctored online at a specific time designated by the school district. They are given at the end of each nine weeks except at the end of the fourth nine weeks.  

  • Benchmark assessments will be proctored online at a specific time designated by the administrative/staff team. 
  • Information about benchmark assessments will be communicated at least three weeks in advance. Students will be required to be on camera for the duration of the assessment.
  • All benchmark assessments must be taken on the scheduled date.

  • If a student misses an online, proctored benchmark assessment, the student will be required to attend a scheduled in-person administration of the benchmark assessment at CVA.

IN PERSON ASSESSMENTS

Georgia Milestones Assessments

All Columbia Virtual Academy students must take any required Georgia Milestones End of Course (EOC) or End of Grade (EOG) assessments in a proctored setting at a Columbia County School District location. The specific dates for these assessments will be provided on the school website. Exceptions are not granted. CCSD follows state guidelines for requirements of Georgia Milestones EOC or EOG. Failure to attend a required test may affect promotion requirements and will result in a lower grade for high-school courses. 

iReady Assessments

Students in middle school will take in-person proctored iReady diagnostics in English Language Arts and Math at three designated times (fall, winter, and spring) during the school year. All iReady assessments  will be proctored in-person at the CCSD Support Complex, located at 4395 Riverwatch Parkway, Evans, GA 30809. 

 

  • All iReady assessments must be taken on the scheduled date. 
    • Fall Dates-       ELA- August 17th,  Math- August 18th  
    • Winter Dates- ELA- January 9th, Math- January 16th
    • Spring Dates- ELA- May 14th, Math- May 15th 
  • If a student misses the initial proctored iReady assessment, the student will be required to attend a scheduled in-person administration of the iReady assessment at CVA.
  • Students will not be allowed to exempt the iReady diagnostics.
